Youth Activities

Plus, there are a number of on-going opportunities for involvement.

  • Youth Basketball for ages 5 through 12 runs January through March. Click here for a registration form.
  • Youth Tackle Football for students in grades 6 through 8 runs July through September. Click here for a registration form.
  • Youth Flag Football for ages 5 through 10 is held in September and October. Click here for a registration form.
  • Youth Wrestling for ages 5 through 12 happens during the winter months of November, December and January. Click here for a registration form.

Registration forms for all youth programs are also distributed through the Murphysboro Schools and through the Murphysboro American newspaper.

We’re pleased to announce that the grandstand at Riverside Park’s Chep Kessel Field and the Bandshell also at Riverside Park are being considered for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. Both structures were built in the late 1930s as part of the Work Projects Admistration.
